British muscle

Over in the USA, this might be a Ford Gran Torino, which is great to look at, although I can't say that I've driven one.

Perhaps in the UK (where the equivalent is never seemingly as cool as in the US) it would be a Ford Cortina. By the looks of this, according to Wikipedia, this is a Mark III (1970-1976).

This one was parked in Greenwich while we were (guess what?) flat-hunting.
It seemed to be in decent shape, at least from the outside and although I wouldn't call it a muscle-car, it has its charms.

London style

Around Canary Wharf I see the frequent Porsche and the occasional Ferrari but they're all recent cars that can probably be bought by a decent bonus.

Then sometimes I see cars that could only be owned by real motoring enthusiasts.

Although I have nothing against modern cars, there's something about old, purely mechanical cars that likely need significant maintenance to keep them in good working order.

Expensive to run, even more expensive to fix. More of a lifestyle than just a car.

Meeting the wall

I took a proper lunch break today.
Lunch used to be for wimps until I realised that it (the lack of a proper break) was having a detrimental effect on my psychological state and photography.
Nevermind my psychological state but photography? No!
